We believe that one should always have their nose in at least one book.
Reading gives life to the body, fuel to the mind, and escape to the soul.
We are huge fans of books that uplift and challenge us and books that grow us in wisdom. If you've been wanting to pick up a book for the first time in awhile or if you're just looking for your next read, we are sharing some of our favorites this fine Tuesday morning.
current fiction read: The Circle Series by Tedd Dekker
This book takes you to another world.. literally, and captures you with it's vivd pictures of light and darkness. If you're not quite sure if you believe in God, this would be great for you. Ted Decker makes this book such a good read and he pulls you into the mystery and depths of this "Great Love" that you'll read about if you pick it up. He explores two different worlds colliding and leaves you hanging on which world is reality. If you're a visual person like myself, you will love the portrait it paints of God's all encompassing love for us. He also does a good job of making the spirit realm come to life in his books. "Blessed Child" is another favorite of his!
empowering read: Lioness Arising by Lisa Bevere
I LOVE this book. If you are passionate about identity or if you are struggling to grasp your identity in Christ and who HE says you are, you NEED this book! It is so empowering to the spirit. Lisa literally made me want to be a lioness.. they are so strong, fierce, bold yet graceful. And she chooses them as our comparison as women for God's kingdom because of the way they face life. You will rise up and claim your identity as a daughter of the King as you read the pages.
Beth Ann's Favorite...
empowering read: A Voice in the Wilderness by L. W. Helm
My friend gave me this book for my birthday because God laid it on her heart to do so. It couldn't be more perfect for me and I'm obsessed with it. I re-read parts over and over because it's that good. The author shares bits of his life and all of his Holy Spirit encounters while teaching the reader along the way. It is all about full surrendered obedience and living out a life that is all in with Jesus. It is encouraging, convicting, and exciting. I find so much of my heart echoed in the pages. It's definitely one you should add to your list.
artistic read: A Happy Handmade Home by A Beautiful Mess
We cannot say enough about this fun book! It has given us so many design ideas for our apartments. It makes us want to throw brunch parties every weekend and do DIY's every day of our lives! They make home decorating look fun and easy. They make us believe we are Interior Designers at heart. If you need some inspiration ideas for your home or room, go pick up this book!
